The media world is
evolving. Television, cinema & internet video
dictate how much of the world receives its news
& entertainment. Media Studies workshops
challenge student's perceptions of the media
through a unique backstage pass into the
creation and development of popular shows,
genres & mediums.
Students explore behind the scenes of their
favourite films & learn what goes into making a
cinema classic. They learn of the rich world
behind some of their favourite TV shows, such as
The Simpsons. Attention is also paid to emerging
media forms, such as the internet, and why, in a
world of information overload, students must
surf the web wisely. |

Educational yet fun
Students might think
they've gotten a "bludge day", but they will
learn while studying some of their favourite
shows: how long does it take to make an episode
of Futurama? How did they blow up the bus in
Transformers?
